Candidiasis is a form of infection caused by yeast known as candida albicans. It is a fungal infection that causes local inflammation, itching, burning sensation and soreness. The major causes of this disease weakened immune system, weak metabolism, nutritional deficiency and people suffering from other diseases like diabetes, HIV and cancer are more susceptible to the disease. Very regular use of steroids and antibiotic also leads to this infection. This type of infection can easily be diagnosed with the help of microscopic tests. The treatment candidiasis involves medication with antibiotics and antifungal drugs to stop the growth and action of yeasts.
