Adam Smith

Adam Smith is considered to be a key figure leading to Scottish enlightenment and is credited for several books like An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations and The Theory of Moral Sentiments. The Wealth of Nations is considered as one of his finest works and book of modern economics. Smith completed his moral philosophy from Oxford University and University of Glasgow. He collaborated with David Hume after a series of public lectures at Edinburgh. He was also offered professorship at University of Glasgow during which he wrote The Theory of Moral Sentiments.
